A national anti Israel campaign is urging activists to organize actions against Jewish and pro Israel charities across Canada, including several prominent Montreal institutions.
The campaign, called “End the Charity Pipeline,” is being promoted by Just Peace Advocates and the Canadian BDS Coalition and runs from August 31 through September 12.
“This year, we’re escalating further,” organizers state in campaign material, adding that activists will “directly confront complicit organizations.”
Among the organizations named are the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal, Hebrew Academy, United Talmud Torahs of Montreal Inc., Charity Tzedakah Montreal, Camp Kinneret and Camp Biluim, Camp Massad of Canada and the YWHA Country Camp.
The campaign tells supporters to choose an organization in their area and “plan an action that targets them.” Suggested actions include telephone and email campaigns, distributing leaflets and posters, social media campaigns and rallies.
Organizers are also offering to help activists choose organizations and develop actions against them.
The list is based largely on complaints previously submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency against charities that support Israel, Israeli institutions or organizations operating in disputed territories.
Just Peace Advocates says it submitted dozens of complaints to the CRA between 2021 and 2025 involving more than 100 Canadian charities and qualified donees.
Being named in one of those complaints does not mean that an organization has been found to have violated Canadian law, and the CRA has not made findings against most of the organizations appearing on the campaign list.
The campaign accuses the charities of helping fund what it calls the “Canada to Israel Charity Pipeline” and uses allegations of genocide, apartheid and illegal occupation as part of its case for challenging their charitable status.
The campaign began as a one day action in 2024, expanded to one week in 2025 and is now running for two weeks.
In previous years, organizers focused heavily on complaints to the CRA and letter writing campaigns. This year, supporters are also being encouraged to bring the campaign directly to the organizations themselves.
One of the groups previously targeted was the Dorval based Herut Canada Charitable Foundation, also known as Magen Herut Canada. The CRA revoked its charitable registration in November 2025 following a compliance process.
Just Peace Advocates had campaigned against the organization and later claimed the revocation as a victory. The CRA’s action cited compliance obligations under the Income Tax Act and did not adopt all of the political allegations made by activists against the organization.
The current campaign remains active through September 12. Its published list includes Jewish schools, camps, foundations and other communal organizations across Canada, with several Montreal institutions among them.
