One in Four Canadians Say Jews Deserve the Hate They Get

Posted on September 26, 2025 by News Desk

A new Léger poll has found that twenty eight percent of Canadians believe Jews are responsible for the prejudice they face. In Quebec it rises to thirty six percent. That is not a handful of extremists. That is mainstream opinion.

Synagogues are vandalized in Halifax, Toronto and Montreal. Jewish schools are defaced. Pro Hamas marches fill Canadian streets shouting for the end of Israel. Instead of defending the Jewish community, Mark Carney’s government declared a Palestinian state. The timing was not careless. It was calculated. It told Canadians that Jewish pain can be brushed aside.

The poll shows the rot is generational. Thirty seven percent of Canadians aged twenty five to thirty four believe Jews bring it on themselves. A third of those aged eighteen to twenty four agree. Men are worse than women, thirty four percent to twenty two. Regionally the disease is spread evenly. Twenty eight percent in the Atlantic provinces. Twenty four percent in Ontario. Thirty percent in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Twenty one percent in Alberta. Twenty seven percent in British Columbia.

This is not a statistic to be buried in a news cycle. It is the country laid bare. A nation that blames Jews while synagogues are attacked and mobs glorify terrorists is not tolerant and it is not safe.

Canada has crossed the line from ignoring antisemitism to excusing it.

We have a corrupt and most antisemitic government i ever saw in my life time
We emigrated from Hungary during the 1956
Revolution to find a better life , peace and happiness. Now that does not exist . Very sad for future generation. I never voted for Carney. Shame on Canada!!!’

Same with my family, we left Hungary in 1956 to find a better place, peace and opportunities. Now Hungary is a safer place for Jews than Canada, beyond belief!!!
    Big shame on Canada!
Carney is a real antisemite. I also never voted for him.
One explanation for antisemitism is jealousy
    On our people.
