OPINION: FROM HITLER’S MUFTI TO FATAH SUMMER CAMPS

By Joseph Marshall

What Fatah calls “summer camps” are not places of play. They are military academies for children. Instead of swimming and sports, Palestinian youth march in formation, chant the names of dictators, and learn to handle weapons. Reports from MEMRI and Palestinian Media Watch expose what really happens: in Bethlehem, children prayed for Saddam Hussein, Yasser Arafat, and Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin. Across the territories, children wear uniforms, perform funerals, and hold placards declaring themselves martyrs-in-waiting.

This is not a new invention. The roots of this indoctrination stretch back to the 1940s. Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, stood shoulder to shoulder with Adolf Hitler. He praised the extermination of Jews, recruited Arab soldiers for the Waffen-SS, and trained followers in Nazi ideology. The same methods that Hitler used on German youth turning childhood into a breeding ground for war were passed directly into the Arab political movements of the mid-twentieth century.

The continuity is unmistakable. Nazi youth camps glorified sacrifice and obedience. Fatah camps glorify “martyrdom” and violence. Al-Husseini preached hatred of Jews as a sacred duty. Today’s Fatah teaches children that Israel must be erased from the map. The symbols change, but the program is the same: childhood is weaponized, generation after generation.

Meanwhile, Western human rights activists who march for “Palestine” never mention this. They chant about freedom and justice while turning their backs on the fact that Palestinian leaders are repeating Nazi methods to train their children for war. They present themselves as defenders of rights but in their silence they reveal themselves as enablers of terror.

This is not fringe activity. These are official Fatah youth programs. The same Fatah that diplomats call “partners for peace” is following the same playbook written in Berlin in the 1930s and carried into the Arab world by Hitler’s Mufti. Camps named for terrorists, statues erasing Israel from the map, children acting out their own deaths—all of it is part of a continuum that began with Nazi propaganda and still poisons young minds today.

The hypocrisy could not be more obvious. Western protesters scream about occupation while ignoring the fact that Palestinian leaders are occupying their own children’s futures. They will not say a word about Fatah’s indoctrination because to do so would reveal the truth: this is not about justice, it is about grooming children for endless war.

Until the world admits this lineage, from Hitler’s Mufti to today’s Fatah, the cycle will continue. Children will be robbed of life, and the dream of peace will remain out of reach.
