Hostage Ilan Weiss z’l – Hostage Bodies Rescued from Gaza

The IDF and Shin Bet confirmed Friday that they have recovered the body of Israeli hostage Ilan Weiss in Gaza, alongside the remains of another victim whose name has not yet been released. Once again, Israel is forced to stare evil in the face, Hamas butchers who slaughtered innocents, dragged their bodies into tunnels, and dared to hold an entire nation hostage.

Weiss, 56, a father and a defender of his community in Kibbutz Be’eri, was killed on October 7 while fighting back against the terrorists. His body was stolen and paraded into Gaza by Hamas savages. His wife Shiri and daughter Noga were dragged into captivity but freed in November 2023, while his other daughters, Meytal and Maayan, barely survived by hiding as Hamas stormed their home. Even the family dog was shot dead by the gunmen, a snapshot of the bloodlust that drove the October 7 massacre.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “We will not rest and we will not be silent until we return all our hostages home, both the living and the fallen.”

President Isaac Herzog called Weiss a hero whose death embodied sacrifice. “Ilan showed courage and noble spirit when he fought the terrorists on that dark day. In his death, he gave life. And ever since, his family has shown extraordinary strength in their struggle for his return.”

Defense Minister Israel Katz praised the soldiers who risk everything to bring the hostages back, calling the fight for their return the “central goal of the approaching maneuver.”

But behind the words lies unrelenting rage. Hamas did not just kill Weiss, they butchered, desecrated, and held him from his family for nearly a year. They tortured his loved ones, ripped apart a household, and thought they could break a nation. They failed.

Every recovered hostage, dead or alive, is a reminder of why Hamas must be crushed without mercy. These terrorists are not freedom fighters. They are executioners who hide behind children, who kill pets, who burn families alive, and who gloat as they drag bodies into their sewers.

Israel mourns Ilan Weiss, but Israel also hardens its resolve. His blood, and the blood of every victim of October 7, demands justice. Until every hostage is brought home and Hamas is eradicated, there will be no peace, no silence, and no forgiveness.
